Arthur Murray Is Back To Ballroom Dancing In San Francisco

Arthur Murray Is Back To Ballroom Dancing In San Francisco

Of all the ballroom dances that are taught at Arthur Murray, there is one dance that is off the books, informal, and wildly popular at the new Arthur Murray San Francisco these days…

A Victory Dance.

After months of delay due to permitting, a hearing with the planning commission, and a short stint teaching out of a former daycare – 321 Divisadero Street is now, officially and legally, the home of Arthur Murray San Francisco.

Arthur Murray in San Francisco

Up until 2005, there had always been an Arthur Murray school in San Francisco. Located on 1532 Taraval Street, that school closed, unfortunately, after the unfortunate passing of the studio owner, Karen Shelly.

For the past decade, TV shows like Dancing With The Stars have brought incredible attention to ballroom dancing and reinvigorated people of all ages to start taking lessons. Nevertheless, there was no Arthur Muray Dance Studio in one of the landmark cities in the world.

This all changed after years of “on-again-off-again” searching landed, owners, Chris and Daisey Lynam at the historic 321 Divisadero Street location in January 2015.

The video below will shed some light on that process.

Meet the Executive Team

The starting team in San Francsico is made up of seasoned Arthur Murray instructors from within, and outside the bay area.

Eva Love – New Student Counselor

As the Dance Director for Arthur Murray Livermore, and an incredibly popular teacher to boot, Eva Love is an exciting, and excited, addition to the team in San Francisco.

William joined the AMSF team as the Supervisor in 2017 from the Livermore studio, and has made an immediate impact with his energy and expertise.

Christina Mullen – Dance Director

Arthur Murray is a worldwide family, and this part of our family is moving down to California from Oregon.  Having trained with an ArthurMurrayLive alum, Arthur Murray Hayward teacher and Arthur Murray Redwood City executive, Nicole Browne, Christina Mullen brings years of experience, and plenty of energy to the new staff.
