The Double-O Dance Program

The Double-O Dance Program

Begin Transmission

Location: Istanbul

Theres a moment when disaster strikes.

Youre milling around, chatting it up, having a drink and then they grab you.

Your drink disappears, the chatting turns to cheering, and you realize youre in the spotlight, on a dance floor, with all the calmness of a hostage negotiation

 and then it hits you:

Youre prepared.

In a split second the big band music will trigger a file of information, stored conveniently in your brain, as well as your muscles (We like to think of it as a fail-safe data security system).

In addition, the file will include information on the local customs, embellishments, and all the necessary bio-feedback measurables so the movements can be executed, with ease, in the most authentic way possible.

Three minutes, two turns, and one sigh later, the audience, and your partner, approves. The crowd applauds as you raise your hands up in the expression of OK, maybe just one more.

Your dancing has been authenticated.

Your training has served you well.

Your return to the bar is ripe with compliments, and a fresh cocktail.

As you sit back in your usual seat at the Baccarat table, you execute a private toast to the professionals at Arthur Murray that anticipated this moment long before you ever arrived there.

A wry smile creeps across your face as you realize that this dance program may be the one gadget that doesnt get lost, dropped, or left in a blazing inferno.

*End of Transmission*
