You don’t need a partner to take dance lessons at Arthur Murray. Working one on one with an instructor lets you learn at your own speed.
Absolutely! Our Arthur Murray team can help you with everything from your first dance to your reception, and anything (dance related) in between. Whether you need a crash course or you want to bring the house down, we are your one stop shop for dancing on your big day.
Most students are surprised how quickly they gain confidence with consistent lessons. The Arthur Murray method is designed to make each lesson build on the last — this helps you build your muscle memory and have fun in the process.
You don’t need dance experience to benefit from dance lessons. Arthur Murray became famous for making dancing fun, quick and easy for everyday people – not just those who were gifted movers.
We are definitely used to busy schedules. At Arthur Murray, you don’t need to stick with the same time from lesson to lesson. Our team creates a concierge level service to create a schedule that can fit dancing in, even with the craziest lifestyles. We teach from 1-9pm Monday through Friday. Choose a good time on our calendar and we’ll help with the rest.
Whether you have a wedding reception, class reunion, family party, vacation, dinner-dance or nightclub in your future – there are countless places and ways to use your new dance skills. In addition to that, all Arthur Murray students have twice weekly practice parties to work on practicing their dance moves in a real world setting.
You don’t need special clothes for your dance lessons. Just dress comfortably. Some students come straight from work, school, the gym, or from “Parenting Zone”. The only thing to keep in mind is wearing shoes that won’t slip off of your feet.
Your first lesson will be a relief. For as much time as you’ve spent “not-dancing”, you’ll understand why Arthur Murray’s slogan has been, “walk in, dance out.” Not only will you be dancing by the end of your lesson, but you’ll be able to see that our staff is friendly, very professional, and genuinely interested in guiding you to your dance goals.
Your instructor is going to guide you through the learning process at a pace that will fit your goals. Learning doesn’t have to be a race. The most important thing is to try the Introductory Lesson to see that you can learn — and you might just surprise yourself with how fast you make progress.
Absolutely not. We’ve taught students from every age group: from 9 to 95. It’s never too late to learn, and we tailor your lessons to your comfort and goals.

It’s partner dancing judged at events based on technique, timing, style, and presentation — with defined categories by level and age – there’s an event for anyone. Oh… and there’s costumes.
Not necessarily. Most Arthur Murray students compete with their instructors, especially in the early stages. Later, you can explore amateur partnerships if you choose.
Nope. Many students start from scratch and work their way up. All competitive events include a Newcomer category for students under one year on their dance program.
Any dance we teach, from the Latin, the Ballroom, the Nightclub styles, Country Western… you name it – it’s all on tap at any Arthur Murray Dance Competition.
Dance competitions for ballroom and latin dancing can be done with either your teacher or an amateur dance partner. Every Arthur Murray competition is part vacation and part confidence building dance event.
It varies, but most competitive dance program students can be competition-ready in just a few months with regular lessons and preparation.
