Manly Men Should Never Dance

INTRODUCTION:

The list post is one of the most popular and readable blog formats on the web. It is composed of — you guessed it — a list, and includes short explanatory paragraphs about each item.

Use your introduction as a way to tell the reader how this collection of ideas will help them. Keep it light by including a personal story. If you have any data that you can include relating to your list, include that in your introduction, too.

Here are some examples of how we use list blog posts here at HubSpot:

* It’s not like you were going to that Dumb High school reunion anyway

* 2 Left Feet are sexy and making a comeback

* With enough liquid courage, you’re better than those guys on TV

* You Don’t Want Your Man-Card Revoked

* Poker Night

* You shouldn’t have to try so hard

* There’s nothing wrong with your date night

* A little road rage is healthy

* You don’t need a social life

* Confidence isn’t an issue.

*Women would rather date a guy with a great car

A few years ago you brough sexy back.  You have nothing left to give.

You added hiking to your Match dating profile 2 years ago. The hiking industry boomed, which resulted in a nasty dispute with several outdoor goods companies.  Your lawyers are still hashing out a settlement. Adding “ballroom dancing” to your profile may results in further litigation and it may break Match.com for good.

Any interest in ballroom or latin dancing would put you in contempt with the World Chest Hair Association and your dues have already been paid.

Your High School slowdancing skills were, and are still, legendary.  Like, banished from the high school reunion, legendary.

CONCLUSION:

Now its time to say goodbye and wrap up your post. Remind your readers of your key takeaway, reiterate what your readers need to do to get the desired result, and ask a question about how they see the topic to encourage comments and conversation. Don’t forget to include a Call-to-Action!

Congratulations! What a lovely list post you’ve created!
