Now that showcase is over what do we do with all that momentum we had before? How do I catch the wind in our sail again to stay on course? Well here four fool proof ways to the wind to your backs
1) Critique, critique, critique
What better way to get the Mo back than to start working on what the critiques said about the dancing. You have tangible proof to help you and your student to focus your lessons on for the next 3-4 months!!
2) Amalgamations – with leaders and followers they have built up this great start to moving around the floor for showcase but we don’t want them to get used to only leading or following their set amalgamation, so now we can go back in and change up their amalgamations so that they are building on their floor craft with new things to work on
While they are feeling comfortable with their old ones they can start to feel even better now they are adding something new to it.
3) Let’s take the “Show” from Showcase and keep it !!
Now all that hard work your student has done learning and applying all that awesome styling for the event, let’s keep it and apply it to their everyday dancing for that’s the reason they like to watch good dancers dance is because they have that style and grace. Now is your chance to have your student be that cool confident dancer they have always wanted to be, or least look like one.
4) Let get back to old projects or start a new one
Showcase is a perfect event to catapult a new routine a new level of dance for your student for they are in the ideal learning mood. Also this is a great opportunity to get back to an old project that may have been put on hold for the showcase!! Now is the time to stile while the iron is still hot!!
Hopefully these ideas gives you more power to get the ball rolling 🙂
